As our Colleague Wellbeing Coach, you'll play a vital role in supporting the physical, mental and financial wellbeing of colleagues across the business. From providing compassionate one-to-one coaching and guidance through life's challenges, to helping colleagues access the right support at the right time, you'll be a trusted wellbeing partner who makes a genuine difference every day.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Delivering training to managers and teams
  • Provide confidential, short‑term wellbeing coaching and pastoral support to colleagues experiencing personal, domestic or work‑related challenges
  • Hold supportive 1:1 coaching conversations with colleagues, helping them clarify issues, explore options and access appropriate support
  • Signpost colleagues to relevant internal services and external organisations, in line with agreed wellbeing pathways
  • Support colleagues during key life events and transitions, such as:
    • Return from maternity or extended leave
    • Bereavement
    • Health‑related absences or recovery
    • Preparation for retirement or significant change
  • Support colleagues on long‑term or short‑term sickness absence from a wellbeing perspective, working closely with the Colleague Wellbeing Lead and HR colleagues where appropriate
  • Contribute to occupational health referrals by gathering relevant information and supporting colleagues through the process
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with data protection and agreed boundaries
  • Escalate complex, high‑risk or safeguarding concerns promptly to the Colleague Wellbeing Lead
  • Support the delivery of wellbeing activity and events where required, without owning campaign design or strategy
  • Act as a visible and approachable wellbeing contact for colleagues across the business
  • Be central to our people response in the event of any incidents which may have an impact on the wellbeing of our colleagues
  • Support the Responsible Business team with regular internal campaigns and events to promote good health and wellbeing

Note that this role will not act as an advocate in any areas of HR management practice, such as grievance, discipline or harassment, nor will they provide ongoing regular counselling to individuals: the focus is on triage, support and signposting for individuals as well as group health and wellbeing promotion.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Significant experience delivering 1–1 wellbeing, mental health or coaching support
  • Experience managing a busy and emotionally complex caseload
  • Confidence delivering training, workshops or group sessions to managers and teams
  • Experience working with, advising or supporting employers, HR, managers and teams
  • Excellent listening, questioning and reflective skills
  • Excellent individual communication skills, both face-to-face and remotely
  • Comfortable operating in a professional, fast-paced environment
  • Organised, resilient and able to manage emotionally demanding conversations
  • Able to identify situations quickly that require additional support and guidance
  • A clear appreciation of the need for – and limits of – confidentiality
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working in a professional services workplace is particularly desirable
  • Qualification in coaching, mental health, wellbeing or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Background in mental health training, facilitation or group work
  • Experience in regulated, high-pressure or complex environments
