Overview
Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade B – Newcastle) role at Fletchers Group. Location: Newcastle/Hybrid (hybrid working available – with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate in-office when needed).

Accountable For
- Accountable for running an individual caseload
- Providing support, guidance, and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
- Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
- Supporting the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs
- Effective and thorough time recording
Responsible For
- Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members
- Identifying and driving cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team
- Co-ordinating information collection and progression of cases
- Proactive management of a caseload in a commercial manner
- Co-ordinating progression of cases with internal and external parties
- Drafting of legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction
- Negotiating settlements and issuing/service of proceedings when required
- Litigation of claims as required
- Overseeing the documentation and correspondence produced by the team
- Advising the team on technical issues with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Recent experience of handling a caseload
- 5 years+ PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and drafting skills
- Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Office packages, Proclaim and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
- Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
- Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
- Excellent Client Care Skills
