Solicitor (Grade A/B) – Clinical Negligence – Leeds

Location: Leeds / Hybrid. Hybrid working available – with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate in-office when needed. Overview

Join Our Leading Clinical Negligence Team. We are seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join a dynamic and supportive team. The role offers a high level of autonomy, handling complex cases from start to finish, with a proactive and commercially focused approach. You will correspond regularly with clients, medical experts and other stakeholders to provide clear, informed guidance and maintain strong relationships. Your experience and leadership will contribute to delivering successful outcomes and upholding our commitment to excellence in clinical negligence law within a collaborative culture, hybrid working, and excellent benefits.

Main Responsibilities

  • Accountable for providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to customers
  • Proactive and commercial case management and progression
  • Support the Team Leader in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial performance KPIs
  • Effective and thorough time recording

Responsibilities

  • Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader and team members
  • Identifying cases ready for LOC, settlement and service within the team
  • Working with the team to ensure relevant information is collected to enable case progression
  • Managing a caseload in a proactive, commercial manner
  • Co-ordinating progression of cases with internal and external parties
  • Drafting legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
  • Negotiating settlements and issuing/serving proceedings where required
  • Overseeing documentation and correspondence produced by the team
  • Advising the team on technical issues arising from cases

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Recent experience of handling a caseload
  • 8 years+ PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Office, ProClaim and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
  • Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
  • Flexible and committed to achieving results and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent client care skills
