Fletcher George are arranging interviews for an experienced Accounts Manager to join a well-established, privately owned firm in the Woking area of Surrey. Working within a collaborative team, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio to offer statutory accounts preparation, bookkeeping and payroll services to owner-managed businesses across a range of sectors. The Accounts Manager Role
- Manage a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts for selected clients, providing timely and accurate financial information.
- Prepare statutory accounts for a portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards and filing requirements.
- Manage bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio.
- Run monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients, including directors of owner-managed businesses and their employees.
- Process starters, leavers, statutory payments, pension submissions and RTI filings accurately and on time.
- Ensure payrolls are fully compliant with current HMRC legislation including SSP, SMP, SPP and other statutory payments.
- Review bookkeeping and VAT returns, providing high-quality support and advice to clients.
- Support clients using CCH, Brightpay and Xero.
- Onboard new clients, ensuring a smooth transition to cloud-based accounting and payroll systems.
About You
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
- Strong bookkeeping experience together with end-to-end payroll processing.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts for owner-managed businesses FRS102 and FRS 105.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation including SSP, SMP, SPP, P60s, P11Ds and Auto Enrolment.
- Experience using CCH, Payroll and Xero.
- Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- A proactive, client-focused approach with strong communication skills and the confidence to manage your own portfolio.
