Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant / Assistant Management Accountant to join their established finance team based in the Uxbridge area.

Offering a salary of circa £40,000, depending on experience, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their career within a progressive international business. Working closely with the senior management team, you will become an integral member of a friendly and professional finance department. This is a highly varied role offering exposure to management accounts, commercial reporting, reconciliations, international accounting and process improvement across a diverse Group of Companies.

The Role

  • Preparing accounts to Trial Balance for the Group's US entity, to include:
    • Posting supplier invoices and reconciling supplier statements.
    • Resolving supplier queries and issuing remittance advice.
    • Posting and allocating bank transactions.
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, to include:
    • Performing stock, profit and intercompany reconciliations.
    • Posting payroll journals.
    • Accounting for sales, stock reconciliations and invoicing.
    • Preparing VAT Returns.
    • Producing sales and margin reporting.
    • Preparing management accounts for two smaller Group companies.
    • Supporting the year-end audit process.
    • Analysing expenditure and preparing monthly procurement reports.
    • Reviewing merchandising and promotional expenditure.
    • Reconciling payment trackers.
    • Assisting with the implementation of new finance processes and systems.
    • Providing additional support to the Management Accounts team as required.

About You

  • Previous experience within an Assistant Management Accountant, Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
  • AAT Part Qualified or actively studying towards qualification or studying towards ACCA or CIMA.
  • Experience preparing accounts to Trial Balance.
  • Strong Excel skills with the confidence to analyse financial information.
  • Experience using Sage or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of VAT.
  • Experience working within a Group environment with intercompany transactions.
  • Experience of retail accounting would be beneficial.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a proactive and positive approach.
  • A genuine desire to continue developing your finance career within a successful and growing international business.
