An independent firm of Chartered Accountants is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant for a newly created role in their Surrey office. Due to recent client wins, this position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse and growing client base, including businesses in Surrey, London, and international firms. Known for its professional yet flexible and respectful working environment, the firm has its staff and their welfare at the heart of its business - and hence the turnover at the Qualified level is very low.
The Role
Working closely with the senior management team, you will manage a very varied portfolio - both locally based clients as well as those based internationally with a UK subsidiary. Ideally, you will have strong accounting skills and would like to add some audit work to your portfolio (up to 30%).
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing statutory accounts and quarterly management accounts.
- Conducting client audits, from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Handling ad hoc project work and assisting clients with their evolving needs.
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns (bookkeeping managed by other team members).
