Fletcher George is recruiting a Personal Tax Senior / Private Client Tax Senior for a well-established and growing firm of Chartered Accountants in Guildford. This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced private client tax team within a firm which combines a strong regional presence with access to wider national expertise and specialist tax support.
You will take responsibility for a varied portfolio which includes private individuals, high-net-worth clients, entrepreneurs, business owners, company directors, trusts and partnerships. Alongside managing personal tax compliance, you will work closely with experienced Managers and Partners on more complex private client tax matters and have the opportunity to develop your advisory experience.
The position could suit an established Personal Tax Senior, an ATT-qualified professional or an experienced Tax Semi-Senior ready to take on greater responsibility. CTA study support is available for someone who wishes to continue their professional studies, but CTA is not essential. The firm is equally interested in experienced tax professionals who are not currently studying.

The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, business owners, company directors, trusts and partnerships
- Preparing Self Assessment tax returns and reviewing work completed by more junior colleagues where appropriate
- Managing personal tax compliance deadlines across your portfolio
- Building strong client relationships and responding to tax queries throughout the year
- Liaising with HMRC and assisting with enquiries where required
- Working closely with Managers and Partners on more complex private client tax matters
- Identifying matters which may require further tax advice
- Developing your advisory experience alongside your compliance responsibilities
- Supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the wider private client tax team
About You
The firm is keen to meet Personal Tax or Private Client Tax professionals with experience gained within a UK accountancy practice. You may be:
- An established Personal Tax Senior or Private Client Tax Senior
- ATT qualified and studying towards CTA
- ATT qualified with no current plans to pursue CTA
- An experienced Personal Tax Semi-Senior ready to take the next step
- An experienced tax professional who has developed their career through practical experience
You will have a good grounding in personal tax compliance and be comfortable managing your workload and deadlines. Experience of managing your own portfolio would be valuable, although applications are also welcomed from candidates ready to take on greater portfolio responsibility. You will enjoy building relationships with clients and want to continue developing your technical knowledge within a well-resourced and supportive tax environment.
