Join the Higgins team in Christchurch as a full-time Quality Assurance Technician in our Chipseal Division. In this hands-on role, you’ll support our surfacing team by delivering accurate, timely data to ensure top-quality results. You’ll oversee documentation control and monitor the quality of various roading surfaces, helping us maintain high standards across the board.
Your day-to-day will include onsite field testing, applying mathematical and machinery-based procedures. To give you the full experience, you’ll occasionally be right there in the action, shovel in hand, backing up the team on site.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Prior sealing experience is highly sought after alongside knowledge of aggregates, surfacing (hot mix and chip-sealing) with an understanding of these materials and their application.
- Class 1 Driving License (WTR endorsement a bonus)
- Experience on civils and roading projects in an engineering or technical quality control capacity is advantageous
- Strong technical, mathematical and analytical skills
- Bitumen safety certificate is desirable; we can support you to obtain this
- Ability to work nights shift and dayshift, including weekend
- Great attention to detail and accuracy
