This role is responsible for Commercial Financial management within Europe. In this role you have the opportunity to lead a consistent approach to pricing commercial offers across Europe and to introduce customer profitability analysis. Additionally, you will lead financial processes for business development in Europe and be accountable for the investment appraisal program in Europe.
This is a hands-on role, focused on Commercial activities including:
- Customer pricing, especially those that relate to multi-site proposals
- Investment appraisal program within Europe
- Business development, M&A opportunities and acquisition/divestment projects
Main accountabilities include:
- Lead financial responsibility & lead contact for Europe Commercial team regarding customer pricing scenarios and decision making for key accounts across multiple countries
- Ownership for controlling the investment appraisal program within Europe, setting standards and defining relevant process improvements & efficiencies
- Financial lead for Europe on Business Development, M&A opportunities and acquisition/divestment projects (including use of Salesforce Business Development system for the region)
- Leading the development & introduction of standardised customer profitability analysis across the region
- Critically review, initiate and lead system & process improvement projects such as strategy evaluation, revenue recognition & labour analysis, scenario planning & application of commercial policy
- Focus on minimising the impact of revenue leakage & contract creep through close liaison with the various teams to ensure systems and processes are effective
Candidate requirements:
- Qualifications and experience: Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, CIMA, ACCA, RC, Post graduate financial masters) with progressive post-qualification experience preferred
- Experience with evaluating and mitigating business and financial risks
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to identify, address and communicate issues and correction actions successfully at all levels
- Pricing policy and practical application in business cases
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the region
- Hands-on practical approach to providing guidance and direction in a challenging and dynamic business environment
- Self-motivated, disciplined and flexible attitude to work
- Experienced user of Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint is a must & experience with PowerBI is considered a plus. Additionally, system knowledge of SUN and OneStream is advantageous
- Experience of managing and adapting to the challenges of different cultures and legislation
- Previous experience of commercial & business development (including M&A) activities across multiple business lines is advantageous
- Willingness to travel regularly to fulfil the requirements of the role
