Fleming-Agri Products is a highly successful manufacturer of machinery for Agriculture and Countryside Care. Based in our modern, purpose-built factory in Newbuildings, we are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Industrial Spray Team as a Trainee.
This is a foundational role where you will be supported by experienced technicians to develop the skills required for a long-term career in high-end industrial manufacturing.
About The Role
As a Trainee, you will work as part of the production team, learning the techniques required to ensure quality and efficiency in the paint application process. Your primary focus will be on learning the "Fleming Standard" of finish while maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Outcomes:
- Undergo comprehensive training to master industrial spray techniques, equipment handling, and various paint types.
- Learn to identify and maintain the high-quality finish required for our agricultural machinery.
- Assist in the daily and weekly maintenance of the spray house, including flushing guns/pots and cleaning booths/filters.
- Learn the importance of a sterile spray environment by maintaining a clean and tidy workspace at all times.
- Develop a deep understanding of HSE (Health and Safety Executive) guidelines, ensuring the correct use of PPE and the safe handling of solvents and dust.
- Support the wider production team to meet daily targets and deadlines.
Requirements:
- A genuine desire to build a career within the manufacturing industry.
- Punctual with excellent timekeeping and a strong work ethic.
- Must be willing to work shift patterns (Days, Saturdays, Evenings) and overtime as required.
- A proactive, "eager-to-learn" mindset with the ability to follow technical instructions closely.
- Previous experience is not required as full training is provided, though any previous manual or factory-based work is desirable.

About The Company
The Fleming Agri factory is based in Newbuildings, North West Northern Ireland. The purpose built factory was established in 1983 on a modest half acre site. Over the years the factory has had several expansion developments including a £1.1m expansion which was completed in 2013. More recently a new 22,000 square feet factory has been opened mid 2020 for the manufacture of larger capacity trailers and vacuum tankers.
With the pace of new technology moving so fast, the company embraces a policy of continuous improvement, involving the most up to date design packages, CNC production machinery and processes including robotic welding.
