We are seeking an experienced Director of Integrated Communications to lead our eCommerce communications practice. This strategic role combines PR expertise with deep eCommerce knowledge to deliver integrated campaigns that drive brand awareness, customer acquisition, and sales for our growing roster of retail and digital‐native clients. You will develop integrated communication strategies spanning earned media, owned channels, paid amplification, influencer partnerships, and content marketing. This role offers the opportunity to lead a talented team, drive business development, and shape how modern brands communicate in the competitive eCommerce landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and execute integrated communication strategies that deliver measurable business outcomes for eCommerce clients.
    • Lead the P&L for assigned client accounts, ensuring profitability and growth.
    • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging platforms, particularly within eCommerce, retail tech, and consumer behavior.
    • Champion best practices in integrated communications across the agency.
  • Client Management & Business Development
    • Manage relationships with C‐suite and marketing leadership at key clients.
    • Lead pitches and presentations for new business opportunities, particularly in eCommerce and DTC sectors.
    • Identify cross‐selling opportunities and develop integrated service offerings.
    • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction and retention.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of account managers, strategists, and coordinators.
    • Set performance standards and drive a culture of excellence and creativity.
    • Foster collaboration across PR, content, digital, and influencer teams.
    • Support team professional development and career progression.
  • Campaign Development
    • Oversee the creation of innovative, integrated campaigns that break through in the eCommerce space.
    • Ensure all work demonstrates creativity, strategic thinking, and measurable ROI.
    • Balance owned, earned, shared, and paid channels to maximize impact.
    • Manage campaign timelines, budgets, and quality across all deliverables.
  • Expertise In ECommerce Communications
    • Understand eCommerce business models, customer journey, and key performance metrics (CAC, LTV, conversion rates).
    • Develop strategies that support customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
    • Leverage product launches, seasonal campaigns, and data‐driven insights in PR strategy.
    • Navigate unique challenges of online retail including marketplace optimization, reviews and reputation, and community building.

Required Experience

  • Background in PR, communications, or marketing with leadership/management experience.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing integrated communications campaigns.
  • Demonstrated experience working with eCommerce, DTC, or retail brands (preferably digital‐native).
  • Strong understanding of earned media, content marketing, influencer partnerships, and digital channels.
  • Ability to read and interpret eCommerce metrics and translate them into PR/communications strategy.
  • Experience managing teams and leading cross‐functional projects.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
