Our Corporate Affairs team plays a central role in helping clients build and protect their reputation across a broad range of stakeholder groups. Working at the intersection of media, politics, business and society, they advise clients on strategic communications, media engagement, issues and crisis management, regulatory positioning, executive visibility, and thought leadership.

In this role, you'll develop genuine depth across corporate affairs and financial services: advising clients on corporate reputation, media engagement and issues management, while simultaneously building fluency in the fast-moving world of financial services – from regulatory affairs to B2B and B2C campaigns spanning some of the world's most recognised brands.

The day to day includes:

  • Leading on media relations across UK and international media – developing targeted media lists, drafting pitches and press release announcements, and confidently selling in stories to journalists at top-tier global outlets and trade publications.
  • Keeping accounts running smoothly through strong project management – tracking activity and deliverables, providing concise and accurate updates to the account lead and senior team, and supporting the team in driving projects through to completion with rigour and attention to detail.
  • Handling clients with confidence and professionalism – responding to client requests promptly and effectively, whether on email or on calls, flagging anything that needs senior input and proactively driving forward activity to keep momentum on accounts.
  • Contributing to strategy and messaging – developing communications plans grounded in audience insight, with an eye to channel selection, content strategy and smart measurement to demonstrate impact.
  • Enabling clients to build closer relationships with stakeholders by supporting and managing events, roundtables, partnerships and briefings.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members, providing regular feedback and guidance to help them grow and develop.
  • Being actively involved in new business efforts, including contributing to proposals and pitches, supporting marketing activity and networking with prospects across both practice areas.
  • Working with other FleishmanHillard offices, ensuring processes and systems work efficiently and supporting the development of multi-country campaigns lead from London.
  • Contributing to London office, global and regional network initiatives and knowledge sharing across the corporate and financial services community.
  • Delivering continuous feedback, both upwards and downwards, to help us be more inclusive, supportive and effective as a team.

About you:

  • Strong media relations experience – confident media handler, ability to develop media lists, draft pitches, press release announcements and sell-in to journalists in top tier global media and trade publications.
  • Financial services knowledge – understanding of the broad financial services landscape, an interest in regulatory matters and macro landscape that will impact client’s operating environments across B2B/B2C briefs.
  • Organisation and detailed project management – ability to provide concise, accurate updates to the account lead and senior team, including media coverage, relevant sector news and updates; ability to track activity and deliverables, to support team in seeing projects to completion.
  • Client handling – ability to confidently and proactively handle requests from clients both on email and on calls, flagging up to the team when needed and driving forward activity.
