Fleggburgh Surgery is a small, rural GP Practice offering outstanding personalised care to our 2000 patients. We are a small team and as such are looking for a motivated individual who works well with others and is enthusiastic about going above and beyond for our patients. The successful applicant will need to be able to work 08:15-18:00 Monday & Thursday and 08:15-13:00 on a Tuesday. We may be able to offer overtime on an adhoc basis if desired.

Main duties of the job:

  • Act as the face and voice of the surgery, providing a welcoming, professional service to patients.
  • Handle all incoming patient queries via face-to-face contact, telephone and online systems.
  • Liaise effectively with GPs, nurses, healthcare professionals and external organisations.
  • Support the dispensary team with administrative and patient-facing tasks as required.
  • Manage patient registrations, deductions and referrals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process incoming clinical documents, including scanning, coding and summarising records.
  • Summarise new patient medical records in line with practice protocols.
  • Undertake a wide range of general administrative duties to support practice operations.
  • Assist the wider team with long-term condition, immunisation and recall invitations.
  • Maintain confidentiality, accuracy and professionalism at all times.

Opportunity to progress to a Dispensary Course and to train in Phlebotomy, subject to interest and service need.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: GCSE's A to C in English and Maths - or evidence that the applicant has a good understanding of both and is able to articulate themselves well verbally and in written form. Dispensing Qualification.
  • Experience: Experience of working autonomously, in a team, in primary care or within a GP Practice, and using SystmOne.
