Contract: Part-Time

Hours: Three evenings per week and weekends (in line with age group requirements)

Fleetwood Town Football Club is seeking enthusiastic and committed Youth Development Phase Coaches to join our Category Two Academy on a part-time basis. We are looking for coaches who demonstrate integrity, compassion, pride and honesty, with a genuine desire to develop both themselves and the players in their care. Successful applicants will be hardworking, accountable and committed to delivering the highest standards of coaching within our Academy environment. We also welcome applications from overseas interns, with accommodation available and the opportunity to work within one of the country’s fastest-growing academies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage your allocated age group in line with the Fleetwood Town Academy philosophy and coaching directive.
  • Take responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of all players.
  • Maintain regular communication with your co-coach before and during training sessions.
  • Deliver the Academy coaching programme and age-specific syllabus.
  • Plan, record and deliver sessions in line with the club’s coaching philosophy.
  • Ensure the welfare and safeguarding of all players at all times.
  • Submit session plans and attendance records for every session delivered within the Under-9 to Under-16 Academy programme.
  • Set and monitor individual player learning objectives on a fortnightly basis.
  • Maintain effective communication with the multidisciplinary support team.
  • Attend and contribute to player and parent reviews every 12 weeks, in line with EPPP guidelines.
  • Support Academy recruitment activities and provide player feedback where required.
  • Lead your age group on matchdays, including planning, observation and recording individual player feedback on the FIP platform.
  • Attend Academy meetings and complete all required Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in line with EFL and club requirements.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the Lead Phase Coach.
Essential Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must hold:

  • UEFA B Licence
  • FA Youth Award
  • Enhanced DBS (CRC/DBS)
  • Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS)

The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Coaching and Lead Phase Coach and must be able to produce both written and verbal reports from coaching sessions and matches, while demonstrating a sound understanding of the FIP player reporting system.
