The Role

We are seeking a creative, organised, and proactive Social Media Assistant to lead and develop the digital presence of Fleetwood Town International Football Academy. This is a hands‑on role, requiring someone who can both plan strategy and create high‑quality content, including graphic design and visual assets, to promote the academy’s programmes, player journeys, staff expertise, and international activity across all social media platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow all official social media channels for Fleetwood Town International Football Academy.
  • Plan, create, design, and publish engaging content across all platforms.
  • Produce a wide range of content, including:
  • Social media graphics and branded visual assets
  • Short‑form video content and reels
  • Written posts, captions, and campaign messaging
  • Player features, programme highlights, and academy updates
  • Develop and manage content calendars aligned with academy objectives and international recruitment cycles.
  • Attend academy sessions, events, and international activities to capture live content when required.
  • Work closely with academy staff to ensure accurate, professional, and consistent messaging.
  • Develop and implement a social media strategy to increase brand awareness, engagement, and enquiries.
  • Monitor performance using analytics tools and provide regular reports and insights.
  • Engage with prospective players, parents, and partners via comments and direct messages.
  • Ensure all content complies with safeguarding, data protection, and brand guidelines.
  • Stay up to date with social media trends, content formats, and platform best practices.
  • Skills & Experience

    • Proven experience managing social media accounts for a sports organisation, academy, or brand.
    • Strong ability to create original content, including graphics, video, and written content.
    • Experience designing social media graphics and branded content.
    • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
    • Excellent photography and videography skills.
    • Experience working within football academies or player development programmes.
    • Proficiency in tools such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar.
    • Experience engaging international audiences.
    • Understanding of football pathways and player recruitment messaging.
