About the Role
Corpay is looking to hire a Head of Sales within its Corporate Payments division, part of the Corpay Complete line of business.
The role is based in the North of England and reports to the VP of Sales.
It is a senior managerial position responsible for leading, coaching, and growing a UK commercial card sales team, driving new business and achieving ambitious revenue targets across Mid‑Market and Enterprise segments in a hybrid work environment.
- Role Responsibilities
- Own the commercial card sales strategy and revenue growth across Mid‑Market and Enterprise segments.
- Lead the end‑to‑end sales lifecycle, from pipeline generation to executive engagement, commercial negotiations, and contract close.
- Build, lead, and develop a high‑performing sales team, recruiting, coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Develop scalable sales processes, forecasting, pipeline governance, and performance metrics to deliver predictable, sustainable growth.
- Build trusted relationships with senior finance, procurement, and treasury stakeholders, positioning the business as a strategic payments partner.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Product, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success to optimise the customer journey and maximise commercial outcomes.
- Act as the voice of the customer, providing strategic insight on customer needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape to influence business and product strategy.
- Identify opportunities for product innovation, market expansion and new revenue streams, helping shape the future commercial card proposition.
- Represent the business at executive customer engagements, strategic partner meetings and industry events, strengthening market presence and brand credibility.
- Deliver accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility and commercial reporting to senior leadership, ensuring achievement of growth objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- 7–10+ years of B2B payments/commercial card sales experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or player‑manager role.
- Proven success selling payments solutions or related finance technologies.
- Background in startup or high‑growth environments; ability to thrive in ambiguity and build from the ground up.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team while also supporting closing complex deals.
- Strong understanding of payment processes, finance operations and value drivers for CFO and Controller personas.
- Skilled in forecasting, pipeline management and building structured sales methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, strategic thinking and executive‑level presentation skills.
