What You’ll Need To Be a Mentor

  • At least 5 GCSEs including English and Maths.
  • Minimum of 6 months UK mentoring experience (including HLTA/TA/LSA work).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting mentees with SEN, SEMH, and other complex needs.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK with no restrictions on working hours.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Your Responsibilities As a Mentor

  • Deliver personalised mentoring sessions that engage, inspire, and help mentees progress toward their goals.
  • Monitoring mentee progress and providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Collaborating with parents, guardians, and schools to ensure appropriate mentee progression.
  • Maintaining accurate session records through our virtual learning platform.

Please Note

When registering as a Mentor with Fleet you will be listed as an Agency Worker, supporting with mentoring engagements as and when they arise. Set amount of hours are not guaranteed. You will work through a contract for service and will be paid via PAYE. Any mentoring placements you undertake with us will be covered by our insurance. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete our safer recruitment process, designed with KCSIE in mind (Keeping Children Safe in Education).
