How to prepare for a job interview at Fleet Education Services

Know Your Stuff

Make sure you’re familiar with the curriculum and teaching methods relevant to Primary and GCSE levels. Brush up on any specific subjects you’ll be tutoring, and be ready to discuss how you would tailor your lessons to meet individual learner needs.

Show Your Passion

During the interview, let your enthusiasm for teaching shine through. Share personal stories or experiences that highlight your commitment to helping students succeed, especially those with SEN and SEMH needs. This will show them you’re not just in it for the job, but genuinely care about making a difference.

Prepare for Practical Scenarios

Expect to be asked how you would handle various teaching scenarios. Think about how you would engage a reluctant learner or support a student with specific challenges. Practising these responses can help you feel more confident and demonstrate your problem-solving skills.

Ask Thoughtful Questions

At the end of the interview, don’t forget to ask questions! Inquire about their approach to supporting tutors, the resources available, or how they measure student progress. This shows you’re invested in the role and want to ensure you can provide the best support possible.
