This role is primarily based at Global Vans in Bristol but with some travel across our other business areas in the UK.
The Role
As Senior People & Culture Adviser for the UK business, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we attract, manage, develop, and support our people in a high-performance automotive and sales-driven environment.
This role focuses on supporting operational HR within the group while supporting the business through a group-wide standardisation programme. You’ll work closely with the Group Head of People and Culture to help deliver the people strategy and manage day to day HR.
What I will I be doing
- Key point of contact in the region for all HR queries and support
- Deliver practical, commercially focused HR solutions.
- Advise and support managers with performance management, absence, disciplinary and grievance, onboarding, reward, wellbeing and employee engagement.
- Giving advice and training on our Group Employee Handbook
- Support recruitment activity including offers, onboarding processes and background checks
- Understanding of UK employment law and how this impacts policies and procedures
- Supporting the implementation of People & Culture systems (HRIS), ensuring they enable efficient processes, accurate data and a positive user experience for managers and employees.
- Driving CSR and engagement initiatives
- Support payroll administration and data management/reporting
- Collaborating with People & Culture colleagues across the wider group to drive standardisation
- Supporting change activity, including restructures, consultations, and TUPE processes
- Identify and support HR projects and improvement opportunities
What will I need to succeed
- Proven experience in an HR role with relevant experience, ideally in a similar industry
- Strong experience modernising People & Culture processes and policies, particularly in growing or changing organisations.
- Solid, up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and confidence managing employee relations cases.
- Great PC skills and experience using HR systems
- Confident, credible communicator able to influence and challenge leaders at all levels.
- Pragmatic, hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple operational activities and stakeholders
- CIPD Level 5 preferred
