The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the optimal functioning of all building systems and equipment. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Locate, identify, and resolve any safety issues with mechanical or electrical devices.
- Proactively investigate needs, evaluate issues, and present/recommend alternatives to decrease overall facility operational downtime thus increasing operational effectiveness.
- Support existing and future projects during installations, start-up, and long-term operation.
- Support corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance program at local facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Identify dull tooling and replace as necessary.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.
- Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.
- Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
- 1-3 years of experience in general maintenance machine operations, facility maintenance, and maintenance for high volume conveying systems, etc.
- Experience in Pneumatic and Milling Tool Repair and Troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Ability to effectively multitask and respond to multiple job priorities simultaneously.
