What we are looking for
We are looking for a VFX Supervisor focused on AI technology who will be responsible for integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and real-time tools into visual effects pipelines to enhance efficiency and creative output. We are looking to collaborate with other Flawless departments including post-production specialists, software engineers, and research scientists.
Responsibilities
- Hybrid Workflow Design: Liaise with the Head of Visual Effects to assist in the architecture and development of pipelines that blend traditional VFX techniques (Nuke, Maya, Houdini) with modern AI tools.
- R&D Collaboration: Work with R&D teams to prototype, test, and deploy emerging AI tools into production-ready workflows.
- Creative Leadership: Provide artistic direction, ensuring final shots meet high-end, photorealistic standards and guide teams to use assistive AI as a creative tool.
- Establish a pool of additional VFX artists to hire on an ad-hoc basis.
- Manage individual projects' VFX workflows and pipelines.
- Liaise with the Production to estimate time needed to complete shots and projects.
- Review WIPs and provide constructive feedback.
- QC composites to identify problems and suggest solutions.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years in visual effects, with significant experience as a VFX Supervisor or Lead on high-end film or episodic content.
- Solid understanding of Machine Learning, neural rendering, and data pipelines in a high-volume production environment.
- Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Nuke. Experience with other standard VFX packages (Houdini, Maya) and real-time engines (Unreal Engine) preferred.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage large, technical, and creative teams, often within a hybrid or remote environment.
- Knowledge of Python, Hscript or Mel is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent visual skills and attention to detail.
