We\’re looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join our Procurement team in Darwen. This is a role with real impact, you will lead on supplier negotiations, set the standard for stock availability, and bring the commercial insight that keeps us ahead in a competitive market.
What you\’ll bring
Lead supplier negotiations, securing competitive terms, rebates and promotional support.
Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, ensuring early product access and innovation.
Own forecasting, ordering and stock availability across core ranges (targeting 97%+).
Monitor supplier performance through KPIs (OTIF, availability %, stock ageing) and present business cases to support decisions.
Tackle aged or slow-moving stock with creative, commercially sound solutions.
Ensure all supplier and product documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations.
Share knowledge and provide guidance to Buyers within the team, helping to raise capability and consistency
What you\’ll bring
Significant buying experience in FMCG, retail or distribution.
A strong track record of supplier management and commercial negotiation.
Commercial acumen and confidence to influence business-critical decisions.
Analytical mindset with confidence in data, KPIs and Excel.
Forecasting and stock control expertise.
Clear, persuasive communication and influencing skills.
CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential.
