Hi, we're FlatPlan, a SaaS business that helps media companies deliver breaking news articles to millions of people on Apple devices. We work with world-class brands like The Athletic, The Atlantic, Formula One and the Premier League. Our mission is to transform how news media reaches readers, and we’re looking for a talented front end developer to help us achieve that.
We partner with major media companies, helping them reach wider audiences through innovative publishing solutions. A big part of that involves the build of beautiful articles and features, to the very highest of design standard.
We need a skilled Front End developer with a passion for design to join our team, bringing technical expertise and creative problem-solving to our platform. You’ll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising the pages we build, working to designs supplied by our Head of Design in Figma.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Design, development team, QA team and a Project Manager to conceptualise, build and refine solutions that improve how publishers distribute content. We build using a format called Apple News Format, which you will be trained on by our friendly team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Building beautiful pages for some of the world's most prestigious brands
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues for media partners
- Working with APIs, webhooks and third-party services to extend functionality
- Keeping up with development best practices, ensuring our solutions remain cutting-edge
- Collaborating with our remote team to brainstorm and implement new features
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of development experience
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3
- Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON and third-party integrations
- Experience with Git version control and Agile workflows
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote team
