Reporting to: Managing Director
We are looking for a Commercial Strategy Manager to work closely with our UK leadership team and help drive the next phase of Flatpay's growth. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, analytics and operations. You will work directly with our core commercial teams, SDR, Field Sales and Portfolio Management, to analyse performance, identify opportunities for improvement and lead projects that help us scale more effectively.
You will be responsible for turning data into actionable insights, building business cases and financial models, and supporting leadership with clear recommendations that improve commercial performance. This is a hands-on role in a fast-growing environment. The right person will be comfortable working with ambiguity, digging into complex problems and working cross-functionally to deliver practical solutions that drive real business impact.
What you’ll do
- Work closely with one of our 3 core commercial functions; SDR, Field Sales or Portfolio Management (Retention, Upsales etc)
- Support function heads and executive management by generating high quality insights and analytics
- Initiate and run strategic projects to improve processes and results
- Conduct deep-dive analyses into key commercial and operational topics
- Build business cases and financial models to support decision-making
- Prepare clear and compelling presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Monitor key operational and performance metrics and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate cross-functionally across the business (sales, ops, finance, product)
- Take ownership of ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives as they arise
Who you are
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills and open to taking team management roles in future
- Clear communicator with strong presentation skills
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, PowerBI) preferred
- Highly adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment
- High agency, proactive, self-driven and willing to "roll up sleeves" and get things done
- Team-oriented, low-ego and focused on impact
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher (e.g., in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or similar)
- Experienced in consulting, investment banking, or a high-growth startup environment
- Exposure to commercial strategy, operations or go-to-market planning is a plus
