Functional alignment: Global Head of Coaching & Development

The Leadership Development & Coaching Partner will work directly with managers across Flatpay UK, from first-time team leads to regional leaders, helping them lead confidently, manage performance effectively, and build high-performing teams. This is not a traditional L&D role. It is a hands-on, commercially focused position embedded within a fast-moving, sales-driven environment. The role focuses on strengthening manager capability, improving performance conversations, embedding consistent probation standards, and reducing early attrition through stronger leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver and continuously improve the UK leadership development programme.
  • Coach managers (1:1 and group settings) on accountability, performance conversations, expectations, and team leadership.
  • Support first-time managers in building structured and consistent leadership habits.
  • Facilitate practical, high-impact sessions focused on difficult conversations, standards, and driving results.
  • Reinforce leadership behaviours aligned with Flatpay’s high-performance culture.

Performance Standards

  • Support managers in applying probation and performance processes consistently and confidently.
  • Improve the structure and quality of performance conversations across the organisation.
  • Provide guidance on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and documentation standards.
  • Identify patterns of underperformance or early attrition linked to leadership capability.
  • Work closely with HR to reduce reactive escalations through proactive coaching and clearer expectations.

Leadership Insight & Manager Accountability

  • Partner with People Operations to monitor probation outcomes and early-tenure attrition.
  • Identify trends connected to leadership capability and intervene early.
  • Provide pragmatic recommendations to the Head of HR on development priorities and capability risks.
  • Contribute to clear manager performance standards that support consistency across the business.

Connecting Leadership Development to Commercial Reality

  • Partner with Sales Coaches and Training teams to identify leadership capability gaps linked to revenue performance and productivity.
  • Translate commercial priorities into targeted leadership development interventions.
  • Ensure leadership development remains practical, relevant, and grounded in the realities of a scaling sales organisation.
  • Support consistency in leadership standards across departments and regions.

Who You Are

  • Experience coaching managers in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment (ideally sales-led).
  • Strong capability in performance coaching and accountability conversations.
  • Comfortable working with ambitious, high-performing leadership teams.
  • Confident challenging constructively and holding standards.
  • Strong understanding of performance data and commercial drivers.
  • Pragmatic, resilient, and focused on outcomes rather than theory.
  • Thrives in growth environments where pace and ambiguity are the norm.
  • Experience contributing to leadership development programmes within scaling organisations is highly desirable.
