What you'll do
- Lead the employee relations function, handling intricate cases, conducting investigations, and interpreting policies for our diverse global workforce.
- Provide guidance to managers and HR business partners on performance management and navigating challenging conversations, equipping them with the tools and support necessary to enhance their effectiveness.
- Serve as the main point of contact for sensitive employee matters, ensuring that resolutions are approached with empathy and integrity, while collaborating with the Legal team as needed.
- Develop and revise HR and employee relations policies and training programs to ensure compliance with employment laws across the US, UK, Germany, and Japan, while reinforcing our organizational values.
- Design and implement scalable employee relations processes that ensure thorough documentation and minimize administrative burdens for HR business partners and managers.
- Analyze employee relations data to pinpoint trends and potential risks, working closely with HR business partners to shape broader strategies informed by insights and employee feedback.
- Foster a culture of open communication, encouraging employees to voice their concerns and suggestions, and ensuring they feel heard and valued.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support initiatives that promote employee engagement and satisfaction, contributing to a positive workplace environment.
Requirements
- A BA/BS degree or higher is required, with a preference for candidates holding a JD, along with 8-10+ years of experience in Employee Relations or HR roles focused on employment law, particularly within a global or fast-paced organization.
- Extensive knowledge of employment laws in the US, UK, Germany, and Japan, with a proven track record in managing complex employee relations challenges and investigations while ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement repeatable employee relations processes that mitigate risks and enhance consistency across the organization.
- Strong judgment and discretion, with the ability to navigate ambiguous situations with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
- Exceptional communication and coaching skills, with the capacity to influence managers, HR business partners, and senior leadership on employee relations issues.
- A proactive mindset, with experience or interest in leveraging AI-driven tools in HR operations and analyzing people data to derive actionable insights.
- Proven ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with the utmost care and discretion.
