We are looking for clinicians who are passionate about the potential for real‑world evidence (RWE) to accelerate progress against cancer to join our Flatiron Health UK Research Oversight Committee.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for working with a cross‑functional team of Flatiron internal and external committee members to review research requests by research partners (e.g. academic and clinical researchers, pharmaceutical companies) to access Flatiron Health UK’s anonymised real‑world data products. Applications must demonstrate that they are in the interest of the UK public and will generate patient benefit in order to be approved. Your responsibility, as a committee member, will be to ensure this is the case.
  • Attend regular committee meetings and commit to reviewing applications in these meetings and asynchronously as required. The aim is to hold these meetings monthly, but will vary from time to time.
  • Review and assess new and existing data access requests by external researchers to access Flatiron Health UK RWD products.
  • Provide feedback to researchers on applications to access Flatiron Health UK RWD products. Reviews will be expected during regular committee meetings and to be conducted asynchronously.
  • Committee meetings may be held in person or remotely (via video conferencing), as notified by Flatiron Health UK to the members.
  • Approve summaries of decisions and outcomes of meetings to be drafted by Flatiron and published on Flatiron Health UK’s website (e.g. a data access register).
  • Flatiron anticipates that you will be expected to devote no more than five hours per calendar month (with additional hours possible on an exceptional basis). This will include attendance at, and preparation for, committee meetings and decisions required between committee meetings. Committee members will be compensated for this time at fair market value rates for their role on the committee.
