We’re looking for a Research Scientist to help us accomplish our mission to improve and extend lives by learning from the experience of every person with cancer.
What You'll Do
- Work as a member of the Research Sciences (RS) department, primarily supporting the Custom Solutions and Services (CSS) team within the Global Evidence business unit.
- Lead execution of real-world data analytics for commercial use cases in biopharma.
- Design and conduct observational research for medical affairs, HEOR, and market access functions, project workload allowing.
- Provide subject matter expertise and analytic support for commercial pharma use cases (e.g. market tracking, market segmentation, competitive positioning).
- Design studies leveraging electronic health record (EHR)-derived RWD, develop protocols and statistical analysis plans, oversee the execution of studies in collaboration with statistical programmers, and succinctly summarize and interpret results.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders such as project managers and oncologists to execute and deliver on client-sponsored research studies in an accurate, effective, and timely manner.
- Build subject matter expertise and discuss capabilities of a variety of different Flatiron data modalities, including EHR-derived real-world data, clinico-genomics data, and claims data, with biopharma clients.
- Continue to develop a deeper understanding of real-world data and related methodologies used to generate real-world evidence.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives that introduce efficiency into our ways of working and accelerate our ability to generate evidence for our clients.
Who You Are
- You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver.
- You’re an analytical thinker and excellent communicator with experience developing real-world evidence from real-world data (e.g., healthcare claims or electronic health records).
- You hold a PhD degree in Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, or a closely related field with 2 - 3 years of relevant experience (can include work experience before graduate school) or a Master’s degree in one of these fields with 4 - 5 years of relevant experience.
- You have experience working in a pharmaceutical/HEOR consulting environment.
- You have an understanding of commercial biopharma analytics for Oncology, including knowledge of common analytic approaches, an ability to articulate strengths and weaknesses of common real-world data sources (e.g. claims, EHR), and experience employing descriptive and predictive analytics.
- You have experience and are comfortable programming in R to conduct an analysis upon real-world data to meet project objectives (or another programming language and are committed to developing your skill in R).
- You have strong organizational, time-management, prioritization and decision-making skills necessary to evaluate, plan and implement multiple high-visibility projects in a timely fashion.
- You are comfortable working closely with clients to refine and deliver high-quality studies that meet their needs.
- You have the ability to work effectively in a constantly changing, diverse, and matrix environment.
- You are able to quickly learn and apply new information, skills and procedures.
- You are passionate about our mission to improve healthcare through technology.
