About Our Client
Our client is a B2B distribution business focused on delivering operational excellence, strengthening performance, and embedding continuous improvement into everyday work.
The Role
You'll lead day-to-day operations, ensuring customers receive a reliable service and the team meets its same-day dispatch promise. Through hands-on leadership and Lean-inspired improvements, you'll enhance productivity, improve process flow, and help build a culture where teams solve problems and contribute to long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily operations to ensure the same-day dispatch promise to customers is met.
Drive productivity and continuous improvement through Lean principles, Kaizen activity, and waste reduction initiatives.
Monitor and improve operational KPIs, including accuracy, on-time dispatch, and efficiency.
Support resource planning to align capacity with customer demand and improve process flow.
Partner with senior leadership to strengthen budget awareness and cost control while protecting quality.
Work closely with customer service to ensure a seamless experience across returns, product queries, and special requirements.
About You
You'll be a proactive operational leader who enjoys tackling day-to-day challenges, developing people, and delivering lasting improvements.
Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Production Manager, or in a similar operational leadership role.
Strong understanding of Lean warehousing and continuous improvement, with the ability to deliver improvement projects from start to finish.
Confident people leadership skills, including coaching and developing high-performing teams.
Hands-on experience using ERP/WMS systems to improve operational reporting and planning.
Knowledge of Health & Safety in a manufacturing environment, with a calm, proactive approach to risk management.
