The Centre
The Flashpoint Group is currently made up of multiple centres across Bristol, Swindon, Cardiff and Swansea with a speciality in indoor climbing. The site here in Bristol consists of the Flashpoint world class bouldering wall & gym, the Freedog trampoline park & Soft play area and our Café.

Job Summary
The receptionist will be the first point of contact for all customers, participants and visitors. They will be expected to have a firm idea of product knowledge for Freedog and Flashpoint, building layout and policies. The receptionist will deliver excellent customer service and have a consistent approach to conflict management in line with company procedures.
The receptionist will be responsible for customer liaising, ensuring bookings, payments, provisions (socks and shoes) and safety documents are completed to expectations & regulations. Receptionists will also be responsible for cash handling, cleaning, basic café duties (barista and snacks), stock management, delivering briefings, liaising with customers on various platforms, and completing necessary maintenance inspections and departmental task lists for the day.
They will support the Duty Manager in safety management (documents and session capacities), first aid administration and general operational support. The receptionist must have a consistent attitude towards safety and customer service.
Alongside the central area of responsibility, the receptionist will be expected to fulfil Activity Crew Member, Party Coordinator & Café responsibilities to ensure the centre is operationally smooth, subject to business requirements.
The receptionist will be expected to liaise internally with the Duty Manager, court monitors and café staff to ensure positive time management of sessions and information delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Interact with all guests whilst delivering a high standard of customer service at all times
- Ensure the accuracy of bookings and customer data whilst complying with GDPR
- Comply with all safety provisions (waiver, rules, safety briefs and socks)
- Strong product knowledge and policies
- Ensure accurate recording of daily tasks and departmental operations
- Cleaning reception and surrounding areas (lockers, toilets, changing rooms, matting, briefing area, etc.)
- Conduct stock checks and relay any shortages to the Reception Manager
- Check the completion of customer documents before the commencement of activities
- Encourage the time management of customers and sessions
- Assisting the Duty Manager as an All Rounder, supporting all departments subject to business requirements
- Barista and basic cafe duties whilst ensuring safe practice of food handling procedures (cleanliness and allergy awareness)
- Customer service experience (Minimum of 2 years experience)
- Computer literate; including use of Google Workspace
- The ability to communicate clearly and politely, verbally and in writing
- A friendly and professional attitude
- A hard working, team player
- A flexibility as to when you can work
Desired Skills and Knowledge
- Experience working in the climbing or leisure industry
- Experience in customer facing roles
- Experience using Rock Gym Pro booking system or similar systems.
- An interest in climbing or a general interest in sports
