JOB SUMMARY

The Service Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a range of electro-mechanical products to a high-quality standard.

Based at the Bordon Service Centre, this role plays a key part in ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient turnaround times, accurate fault diagnosis, and high-quality repairs.

As experience develops, the role will expand to include broader operational responsibilities, technical support, and continuous improvement initiatives within the service function.

Occasional travel within the UK and internationally may be required.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, fault-find, and repair electro-mechanical equipment to defined quality standards
  • Perform technical preventative maintenance
  • Meet agreed productivity and turnaround time targets
  • Accurately record repairs and service activity using ERP systems
  • Communicate repair findings and recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Provide basic technical support and troubleshooting advice where required
  • Help Identify and elevate potential sales or service opportunities
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure team performance objectives are met
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
  • Assist in any alternative tasks that may be reasonably required.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability on electro-mechanical systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
  • Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical individuals
  • Able to deal with customers directly
  • Competence in soldering and splicing
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise
  • Good foundation of IT skills, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required Education / Experience
  • Interest in electronics, engineering, or mechanical systems
  • IT literacy (Microsoft Office and ERP systems)
  • Basic soldering capability
  • Experience working in a team-based environment
  • Hands-on experience repairing small electro-mechanical equipment
  • Preferred Education / Experience
  • Formal engineering qualification (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent)
  • Experience in a service, repair, or production environment
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Technical support experience (experience providing software support would be an advantage)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems considered an advantage
