A note from our Head of People and Talent: We're thinking about the role CVs should play in our hiring process, and so what better place to test than the People team. I'm really keen to learn more about you as a person, not just what you can do on paper! If you've got something that shows how you actually work rather than what you've just done, please share it! This could be anything, whether it's a video, a project plan, a link to your website – we're open to innovation.

We’re a marketplace, so we actually serve two types of customers: solo travellers and the local partners who bring our adventures to life. Our business is growing year-on-year and backed by strong investor support. Our culture is down-to-earth, hard-working, and compassionate. We’re lucky to have an exceptional team in terms of talent, and our “no a-holes” policy ensures we’re humble and supportive of each other. Integrity is at the heart of our work—we’re driven to do what’s right and to build a company that makes us genuinely proud.
What you’ll find here:

- An ambitious high growth mid stage start-up with proven product market fit in over 15 global markets.
- A highly collaborative team of ambitious and innovative people on a mission to create one million meaningful friendships across the globe.
The Role: We're looking for a People Experience Specialist to join us for twelve months and take ownership of all things People Ops and Experience. There are two key parts to this role. Firstly, you'll own our systems and data, run the touch-points that matter most to our people - onboarding, probations, performance cycles and be the first point of contact for anything people-related. Secondly, you'll be the driving force behind bringing our globally distributed team together - planning the events and culture moments that connect us, and acting as our office champion for the London hub. This is a remote‑flexible role based in the UK, but you'll need to be based in or around London and able to travel into the office regularly. You'll be the main point of contact for the UK team who use the hub, and the one planning our in-person events. It's an initial 6‑month fixed‑term contract, with real potential to become permanent. In line with our salary framework, the salary for this role is £37,000 - £43,500, depending on experience.
Where you will spend your time:
People Ops & Experience
- Make the People experience feel intentional at every stage - from someone's first day onward.
- Own our People Ops lifecycle end to end - contracts, system changes, onboarding, offboarding, payroll and UK compliance while finding ways to improve how these processes are currently ran.
- Document and simplify our People processes so they're clear, scalable and easy for anyone to follow.
- Be the go‑to for the team on everyday People questions being responsive, thoughtful, easy to reach.
- Spot inefficient processes and fix them before they become bigger problems.
- Keep our People data accurate and put it to work, pulling the reports and insights that show us what's actually working.
Culture & Connection
- Champion connection across our globally distributed team always thinking about how we bring people together, wherever they are.
- Design and deliver the events, comms and moments that make Flash Pack feel like Flash Pack, in person and virtually, with a dynamic events calendar behind it.
- Drive the initiatives that strengthen wellbeing, inclusivity and belonging, partnering with team leads to build a genuinely connected culture.
- Support managers directly to help their teams connect and get together with practical help, not just ideas.
- Turn feedback from the team into real action, not just a survey result - translating what people actually tell us into concrete changes to how we work.
- Be our on‑the‑ground office champion for the London hub - the person who makes it somewhere people actually want to come.
What we'd love to see from you:
- You have experience working in or with remote or distributed teams and you understand what good looks like in a remote world with asynchronous ways of working.
- You're pragmatic and can decide when something needs a proper long‑term fix versus a quick, sensible one today.
- Comfortable taking ownership and figuring things out independently — you've worked in a scaling environment, you know how to bring structure to ambiguity, and you genuinely enjoy that kind of environment.
- Experience working in a fast‑moving startup or scale‑up, ideally within a lean People function.
- Strong operational judgement and real attention to detail, particularly when it comes to data and process accuracy.
- You understand root causes before jumping to solutions — you diagnose the real problem, not just the symptom.
- You're curious about AI and actively experimenting with how it can improve the way a people function operates and build better experiences for the team.
We’re after the right person and if you don’t quite hit all the criteria, we’d still encourage you to apply. We’d love to chat and see if you could be a great fit for Flash Pack.
Logistics: Our interviews take place on Google Meet and usually consist of the following stages:
- Introductory chat with our talent team to see if there is a match (20 mins).
- An interview with the hiring manager to hear more about your background and experience and to give you a deep dive into the role (60 mins).
- A culture and ways of working interview with our founder to see if your ways of working are a match with ours (30 mins).
Diversity and Inclusion: We’re led by a BAME, female CEO and building a diverse and inclusive team is incredibly important to us which is why we are building diversity and inclusion into the company hiring, performance and progression framework. We see our diversity as a key competitive advantage which is why we are committed to hiring top talent regardless of race, religion, colour, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or status as an individual with a disability. If you have an additional accessibility or other requirement we haven’t considered, we will do our best to adapt and make sure your needs are met. If you would like to talk to us about these efforts, or have suggestions for how we can do better, we would love to hear from you.
Once you apply, you will be sent a short Equality, Diversity & Inclusion survey, it would help us immensely if you can complete it.
