We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Service Controller to join our dynamic team.

The Service Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective and efficient maintenance and repair of our fleet of plant machinery.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating service schedules, managing repair requests, liaising with engineers, and ensuring minimal downtime for our equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate routine maintenance schedules for all plant machinery, ensuring timely servicing to prevent breakdowns and maximize equipment uptime.
  • Manage and prioritize repair requests, assigning tasks to service engineers based on urgency and availability, and ensuring repairs are completed promptly and to a high standard.
  • Monitor and manage parts inventory, ensuring that required parts are available for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Act as the main point of contact between site teams, engineers, and management, providing clear and concise updates on equipment status, repair progress, and any potential issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, engineer time, and equipment downtime.
  • Ensure all service activities are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Produce regular reports on equipment performance, service schedules, and repair outcomes, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in a service controller, service coordinator, or similar role within the plant hire, construction, or heavy machinery industry.
  • Strong understanding of plant machinery, including maintenance requirements and common repair issues.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise with engineers, site teams, and management.
