We are currently looking for an experienced 360 Excavator Driver to join a 3-man civils/utilities gang working on a major utilities project in Swindon. This is a long-term opportunity with 69 months of work available, providing consistent work well beyond the New Year for the right candidate.

The Role

  • Working as part of a 3-man team carrying out underground utilities and civil engineering works, including:
    • Installing rising mains
    • Installing gravity mains
    • Deep drainage and associated drainage works
    • Excavation and trenching for utility infrastructure
    • Working around existing underground services
    • Operating a 360 excavator safely and efficiently
    • Working closely with groundworkers and other members of the gang
    • Using lasers and pipe-laying equipment to ensure accurate levels and falls
    • Following site drawings, specifications and levels
    • Maintaining a high standard of health and safety on site

Requirements

  • 360 Excavator qualification (CPCS or NPORS)
  • Proven experience operating a 360 excavator on utilities/civils projects
  • Previous experience installing rising mains
  • Experience with gravity mains
  • Strong experience in deep drainage
  • Experience working to laser levels
  • Ability to read and work from drawings and site plans
  • Good understanding of trenching, levels, falls and pipe installation
  • Experience working as part of a 3-man civils/utilities gang
  • Strong understanding of site health and safety
  • Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
