Job Description

Plant Operator – 360 Excavator Driver & Trencher

We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated 360 Excavator Driver & Trencher Operator to join our growing team.

The role is based in South Wales, however our projects are located nationwide across the UK.

The successful candidate must be willing to work away from home during the working week, as this is an essential requirement of the role.

Employment Options

The position is available as either

  • Permanent PAYE, or
  • CIS Self-Employed depending on the successful candidate's preference.
  • Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday
  • 42.5-hour working week

All accommodation and subsistence costs are fully paid by the company when working away from home.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a 360 excavator fitted with specialist trenching attachments on utility and civil engineering projects across the UK.

Experience operating a Trencher, Rock Wheel or Top Cutter is highly desirable.

However, we would also welcome applications from time-served 360 excavator drivers who have solid operating experience and are willing to learn how to use these specialist attachments.

Full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate a 360 excavator.

* Operate specialist equipment including

  • Trencher
  • Rock Wheel
  • Top Cutter
  • Carry out excavation and trenching works to project specifications.
  • Complete daily plant inspections and report any defects.
  • Follow site specifications and instructions from site management.
  • Work safely and comply with all company health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and professionalism on site.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate must

  • Hold a valid CPCS or NPORS 360 Excavator card.
  • Have proven experience operating a 360 excavator.
  • Be experienced in operating a Trencher, Rock Wheel and Top Cutter attachment, or be a time-served 360 excavator driver who is willing to learn these specialist skills.
  • Be willing to travel and work away from home on projects throughout the UK.
  • Be reliable, safety-conscious and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

A full UK driving licence is preferred.
