Set in 375 acres of picturesque North Yorkshire countryside, Flamingo Land Resort creates a truly unforgettable experience for Guests of all ages.

Working within the Operations Department, this role is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance and cleanliness of the park's water attractions and associated plant rooms.

The successful candidate will ensure all water treatment systems are operating safely and efficiently, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and compliance.

  • Ensure the safe operation of the Maji Ride, Splash Battle Ride, Splish Splosh Play Area, Sik Pond, Waterfall Plant Room and Plaza Pirate Ship.
  • Clean and maintain all plant rooms daily, including washing down floors and keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe.
  • Carry out and accurately record daily inspections of plant rooms, ensuring all equipment and systems are operating correctly.
  • Monitor, record and maintain chemical levels; topping up where required.
  • Perform routine water quality testing and accurately record test results.
  • Identify, report and where appropriate repair water and chemical leaks.
  • Operate and maintain water pumps, filtration systems and water treatment equipment.
  • Handle and store treatment chemicals safely, including chlorine, acids, PAC binding fluids and sodium thiosulphate.

• Follow safe systems of work at all times, ensuring compliance with

  • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
  • Electrical safety regulations
  • Swimming Pool Safety guidance
  • Report equipment faults, maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure attractions remain safe, operational and presented to a high standard.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Good practical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work safely and accurately following procedures.

Desirable

  • Current Swimming Pool Plant Room Certificate of Competence or equivalent.
  • Experience of water treatment systems, filtration equipment, pumps or plant room operations.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and safe chemical handling procedures.
  • Additional Requirements
  • Successful applicants will be required to complete and pass Fork Lift Truck (FLT) driver training as soon as practicable after appointment.
  • The role involves manual handling, working around water and the safe handling of treatment chemicals.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, bank holidays and peak seasonal periods is essential.
