The Health and Safety Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the effective delivery of Flamingo’s health and safety strategy at the Stevenage site. Working under the UK Health & Safety Manager and as part of the wider Flamingo UK Health & Safety Team, the role ensures legal compliance, supports risk reduction, and drives continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and support a positive health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, encouraging participation in near miss reporting and continuous improvement.
- Support the maintenance and ongoing development of the UK SHE Management System.
- Continuously develop, review and update SSOWs and associated health and safety training materials in line with industry standards and best practice.
- Investigate accidents, near misses and unsafe acts, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventative actions are implemented.
- Participate in joint Health & Safety meetings with Sandy and Weston sites.
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within a manufacturing or operational environment.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Full UK driving licence.
