Overall Function

Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production machinery, ensuring consistent workflow and product quality.

The role includes setting up equipment, monitoring performance, completing basic troubleshooting, and maintaining accurate production records.

A key part of the job is strict compliance with company’s operational procedures and policies, ensuring all restricted areas around machinery are respected, guarded, and free from unauthorised access.

  • Dimensions of the Job
  • Line process: Responsible for controlling all aspects of labelling/production processes and controls within the company’s existing policies and procedures.
  • Labels/Packaging: Responsible for using the correct packaging and ensuring the labelling process is strictly followed.
  • Machinery: Can efficiently operate all machinery within the pack house, such as all Redpack, Ulma and VFF machines.
  • Understanding of the Health & Safety Act and its implications to you, your colleagues and the company
  • Principle Accountabilities
  • To ensure efficiency targets per hour standards are met and are improved
  • To ensure all processes regarding the labelling / packaging are performed to the highest level of accuracy and detail.
  • To complete stock takes and ensure transfer are done correctly and efficiently

Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications

  • Experience in operating machinery in a food processing environment is desirable.
  • Must have sound administrative skills
