About the Opportunity
Flame Health Pharmacy are proud to be recruiting, on a confidential basis, for an exciting and fast-growing international healthcare organisation. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious Pharmacist to join a rapidly expanding, technology-enabled pharmacy and compounding operation based in Oxfordshire. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and wants to play a key part in shaping pharmacy operations, service development, and patient experience at scale. You will work closely with senior pharmacy leadership and hold responsibility as the Responsible Pharmacist, contributing directly to clinical quality, operational excellence, and organisational growth.
The Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Pharmacist, you will support and lead key areas of the pharmacy’s daily operations while helping to implement strategic improvements that enhance patient safety, service delivery, and internal workflow efficiency. You will work closely with the Head of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Manager, and wider operational teams, with opportunities to influence process design, clinical governance, incident management, and workforce development.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Responsible Pharmacist, ensuring safe, compliant daily operations.
- Follow and maintain company SOPs, operational protocols, and quality standards.
- Support the Superintendent Pharmacist in designing, implementing, and improving pharmacy procedures.
- Collaborate with the Head of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Manager to oversee day-to-day operations.
- Deputise for the Pharmacy Manager when required.
- Conduct professional checks on prescriptions and oversee timely order dispatch via courier services.
- Manage near-miss reporting, incident analysis, and action planning.
- Work closely with the Risk & Safety team to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement.
- Liaise proactively with internal operational and service teams to ensure timely fulfilment and exceptional customer experience.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to optimise workflow and service delivery.
- Train, mentor, and support the pharmacy team to ensure continuous development.
- Work collaboratively with the compounding team to supply medicines safely and efficiently.
- Partner with the Supply Chain team and Pharmacy Manager to manage stock levels and ordering.
About You
- GPhC-registered Pharmacist (essential).
- Strong professional expertise with a passion for patient safety and high-quality care.
- Excellent knowledge of community pharmacy, operational processes, and national/local services.
- A collaborative, team-focused mindset with outstanding communication skills.
- Confident in managing varied patient needs through clear, compassionate interactions.
- Positive attitude, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
- Interest in innovation, continuous improvement, and modern healthcare delivery models.
- Flexibility to support business needs and wider operational activity.
- Suitable for junior, mid-level, or senior pharmacists, depending on experience.
