Flame Health Pharmacy are currently recruiting for an experienced and clinically confident Independent Prescribing Pharmacist Manager to lead the prescribing operations of our client’s established online pharmacy service based in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a GPhC-registered Independent Prescriber with strong leadership capabilities who thrives in a structured, governance-led environment and is passionate about delivering safe, patient-centred care within a digital healthcare model. Candidates with experience prescribing for weight loss services will be particularly well suited to this role.

Patients complete structured digital consultations via a secure online platform, which are reviewed by qualified prescribers. The Role
This is a full-time, primarily office-based leadership role in Manchester, with potential flexibility for the right candidate. As a Non-Patient Facing Prescribing Pharmacist Manager, you will:
- Lead and manage the prescribing function within the online pharmacy
- Oversee and review structured online consultations
- Ensure safe, compliant, and evidence-based prescribing decisions
- Provide clinical oversight and support to prescribing pharmacists
- Maintain and develop SOPs, prescribing protocols, and governance frameworks
- Monitor prescribing trends and ensure regulatory compliance
- Support audit processes and regulatory inspections
- Drive continuous improvement in patient safety and service quality
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support business growth and operational success
This is a dynamic leadership position suited to a pharmacist who is confident working autonomously while managing a team and upholding high clinical governance standards.
Clinical Experience
Previous prescribing experience is essential. Management or leadership experience is highly desirable. Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
- Weight Management
- Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)
- Erectile Dysfunction
- Long-term condition management
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Current GPhC registration
- Independent Prescriber annotation
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent clinical reasoning and risk assessment capabilities
- Outstanding written communication skills (digital-first setting)
