This role will suit a qualified, GOC‑registered Optometrist who values thorough clinical care, strong patient relationships, and a supportive branch environment.

You will carry out comprehensive eye examinations within 30‑minute test slots, using sound clinical judgement to diagnose and manage a range of eye health conditions. A key part of the role is giving clear, tailored advice on spectacle and contact lens options, while ensuring every customer receives attentive care and a positive experience. The position also involves working closely with branch colleagues to support service delivery and help drive the business forward. Where applicable, you may contribute to local enhanced service schemes and pre‑registration supervision. Ongoing CPD is part of the role, alongside keeping up to date with optical products and wider industry developments. Fully computerised systems are in place to support an efficient workflow.

Our client is a family‑run business operating in opticians and hearing care, with a clear focus on putting the customer at the centre of what they do. The culture is described as supportive and professional, with an emphasis on people, service quality, and strong day‑to‑day teamwork. The role comes with access to comprehensive CPD training, an extensive e‑learning system, regular product range updates, and opportunities to work with cutting‑edge optical products. Professional fees are covered, and there is also provision for exclusive staff and family discounts on products. Flexible full‑time and part‑time working is available, subject to the needs of the business.

We are looking for a qualified, GOC‑registered Optometrist with a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care. You should be confident in your clinical skills and comfortable managing a range of eye health presentations within a community setting. The right person will enjoy building lasting relationships with customers and colleagues, and will value hands‑on clinical practice. Whether newly qualified or more experienced, you should be motivated by professional growth and able to contribute positively to a friendly, supportive team.

This role will suit an Optometrist who wants to combine high‑quality clinical work with a personal, customer‑focused approach. It is a strong match for someone who appreciates well‑structured testing time and wants to develop within a supportive environment. It will also appeal to newly qualified candidates seeking guidance, as well as experienced Optometrists looking for a stable permanent post where they can make a genuine contribution.

The role is based in Penzance, in the far west of England, within reach of the town centre and local transport links. The area is known for its coastal setting and community feel.
