Flame Health is currently looking for a Qualified Associate Dentist to work within a busy, up-to-date Dental surgery based in Leicester. This is a well-run, professional practice with a friendly, qualified team in place to support you now and in your future dental career.
Main Purpose
To work with communities in preventing and treating dental/oral diseases, correcting dental irregularities, and treating dental/facial injuries.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose diseases and prepare comprehensive treatment plans
- Prescribe and provide endodontic procedures
- Provide oral health advice and aftercare
- Carry out treatment for patients under general anaesthesia
- Prescribe medicines as part of dental treatment
- Prescribe and interpret radiographs (within GDC Scope of Practice)
Main Duties
- Regularly review and follow practice policies and procedures, raising concerns with the practice manager if necessary
- Maintain professional registration, indemnity, and insurance, ensuring evidence is provided to the compliance manager
- Meet Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements to stay up-to-date with GDC and regulatory guidelines
- Treat patients with empathy, professionalism, and understanding
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality care for patients
- Make referrals to other professionals when treatment needs exceed personal scope of practice
- Communicate effectively with patients and the dental team
- Obtain valid patient consent before starting any treatment, following protocols if consent cannot be obtained
- Stay aligned with current regulations, including CGDent, SDCEP, and NICE guidelines
- Maintain and promote good oral health in patients and offer appropriate advice
