Flame Health's Optometry division is currently working in partnership with a well-established, forward-thinking independent optical group to recruit a qualified Dispensing Optician (FBDO) for a Practice Manager opportunity based near Woking, Surrey. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the practice, ensuring the delivery of outstanding clinical and customer service standards. You will lead from the front, driving performance, supporting your team and maintaining a strong focus on the overall patient journey. This role requires a commercially aware and people-focused leader who can balance operational efficiency with a high standard of care.
Key Responsibilities- You will be responsible for leading, coaching and developing the practice team, ensuring a positive and high-performing culture.
- Managing rotas, staffing levels and holiday planning will be key to maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.
- You will oversee diary management and booking efficiency, ensuring optimal clinic utilisation.
- A strong understanding of business performance is essential, with responsibility for monitoring KPIs, managing budgets and maintaining effective stock control.
- You will ensure all operational and compliance standards are consistently met, while delivering an exceptional patient experience at every touchpoint.
Applicants must be a GOC-registered Dispensing Optician (FBDO qualified) with previous experience in a leadership or management capacity. Strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team are essential.
Package & BenefitsA competitive salary of up to £43,000 is available depending on experience. The role is full-time, working 40 hours over 5 days with no Sunday requirement. The package includes 5 weeks' holiday plus bank holidays and an additional day off for your birthday. Professional fees, including GOC registration and indemnity insurance, are covered, alongside a company pension scheme.
