This position would suit a skilled, caring and commercially minded clinician who is committed to delivering thorough, patient-centred eye care.
As Optometrist, you will conduct comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages, assess visual function, identify abnormalities and diagnose a range of ocular conditions. You will prescribe glasses or contact lenses, provide pre- and post-operative care, educate patients about eye health, and offer ongoing clinical support. The practice provides generous 45-minute testing times and uses advanced equipment, including a Rodenstock DNEye scanner. You will maintain accurate clinical records, work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and recommend suitable products or services in response to patient needs.
Our client is an independent optometry practice, providing clinical eye care for patients across the local community. The practice supports a patient-focused approach through detailed consultations, modern diagnostic technology and sufficient time for each examination. Its services include assessment and management of refractive errors, cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration, alongside support for patients undergoing ocular surgery. The practice is seeking an Optometrist who can contribute to high-quality care while demonstrating appropriate commercial awareness.
GOC registration is essential. You will need experience delivering high-quality patient care in a clinical environment, together with the ability to perform detailed eye examinations, recognise ocular disease, prescribe corrective lenses and maintain clear, accurate clinical records. The successful candidate will be skilled, caring and commercially minded, with a strong commitment to patient education and preventative eye care. Additional qualifications in Independent Prescribing, Medical Retina, Glaucoma or Low Vision would be desirable, although they are not required.
This role is suited to an established Optometrist seeking a position where clinical care, patient communication and professional judgement are given appropriate time and attention.
