Flame Health Audiology have been instructed to recruit a Hearing Care Assistant for a permanent, full-time onsite role based across Essex. Offering a salary of £30,000 to £35,000 per annum, this position will suit a patient-facing individual who is keen to build a long-term career in audiology with structured training and development.
This is a varied practice and field-based role combining customer service, administration and patient support within a busy independent hearing care setting. Working alongside experienced Audiologists, you will welcome patients, manage reception duties, register patients, book appointments and help ensure a smooth journey throughout each visit. You will also support hearing clinics by preparing equipment, assisting with hearing aid aftercare, carrying out basic hearing aid maintenance and repairs, changing tubing and batteries, and helping with demonstrations where appropriate. Full training will be provided.
The role also includes visiting patients in their own homes, supporting community outreach and leaflet campaigns, and working with modern hearing care technology while developing both clinical and customer service skills.
What We Are Looking For
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths is required.
- Previous experience within hearing care, healthcare, retail or customer service would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, professional and patient-focused approach.
- Comfortable working both in practice and travelling to patients’ homes.
- A willingness to learn new clinical skills and develop within audiology.
- The ability to work up to five days per week.
