Flame Health Optometry have been instructed to support the recruitment of a qualified Dispensing Optician for a respected independent practice in the Colchester area, North East Essex. This is a full-time, permanent role offering a salary of up to £34,000 per annum, with a planned start date around 27 October 2026, although this may be brought forward.
This position will suit a patient-focused Dispensing Optician who values quality, continuity, and a calm working environment without sales pressure.
In this role, you will be central to delivering a high standard of patient care through accurate dispensing, frame styling, and practical advice on lenses, coatings, and product choices. You will work closely with the Optometrist during clinics, support reception staff with optical queries where required, and help maintain smooth day-to-day patient flow.
You will be working with a selected range of quality products, including Nikon, Seiko, and Rodenstock lenses, alongside a curated collection of independent eyewear brands. Strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to build trusted long-term relationships with patients are key to the post.
