Flame Health Audiology has been instructed to work with a trusted independent opticians group to recruit a Hearing Care Assistant for a mobile role across Banstead, Bookham, Caterham, Croydon and Purley. The salary is £28,000 to £30,000 per annum for a full-time 40-hour week, and the position will suit someone who is comfortable travelling between branches and delivering careful, patient-focused support.

In this role, you will support hearing care services across the branch network, helping adults who are experiencing hearing difficulties, noticing ear wax build-up, or simply seeking reassurance. The work includes support with free hearing tests, ear wax removal for adults and children aged 5 and over, hearing aid fittings and aftercare, and custom-made earplugs for a range of everyday needs. You will also be part of a service that offers both standard and enhanced hearing tests, alongside ongoing checks, adjustments, repairs and filter replacements for hearing aids. The role calls for a practical, steady approach and the ability to work across several sites while maintaining a consistent level of care.

Our client is an established independent opticians business that has extended its high standards of care from eye health into hearing care. Hearing services are available across its branch network, with a strong focus on independence, choice and ongoing support. The service includes free adult hearing tests, wax removal, hearing aid fittings and aftercare, as well as custom earplugs. Because the hearing care offering is independent, devices can be selected from leading brands, with options that include discreet rechargeable models and Bluetooth connectivity. Hearing aids are available from £1,995 per pair, and the aftercare includes annual checks, repairs, filter replacements and battery support where needed.

The key requirement is that you must be a car driver. Beyond that, the role will suit someone with experience in hearing care, audiology support, or a patient-facing healthcare setting, along with a calm and professional manner. You should be comfortable working across multiple locations, supporting appointments and aftercare, and dealing with a range of hearing-related services. Good attention to detail, reliability and a reassuring approach with patients will be important.

This role will suit someone who is looking for a mobile position with a practical focus and regular patient contact. It is a good fit for a candidate who wants to build on existing support experience and work within a service that places value on continuity and care.

The role is based in Banstead, Surrey, with travel across nearby branch locations including Bookham, Caterham, Croydon and Purley. Good road access will be important for someone working across this area.
