Flame Health Optometry have been instructed to recruit a qualified Dispensing Optician for an independent eye care practice in Cheltenham, offering £32,000–£37,000 depending on experience.

About the Job
You will provide expert dispensing advice by understanding each patient’s visual requirements, lifestyle and preferences. Your responsibilities will include recommending suitable frames, lenses and enhancements according to clinical needs, budget and individual circumstances, while maintaining excellent attention to detail throughout the patient journey.
The role involves working with an extensive range of frames and lenses, including leading designer brands, and keeping informed about developments in optical technology, lens design and clinical practice.
You will support the wider team, contribute to the smooth running of the practice and help identify ways to improve its services and patient experience. There is also scope to take on broader responsibilities currently managed by the practice owners, including aspects of administration, accounts or business operations.

What We Are Looking For
You will be a qualified Dispensing Optician with a recognised qualification and relevant professional registration. Strong dispensing experience, sound product knowledge and confidence across the full dispensing process are essential.
You should have a genuine commitment to patient care, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and an attentive, professional approach. An interest in optical fashion, frames and current lens developments will be valuable, alongside commercial awareness and a clear commitment to clinical and ethical standards.
The role would suit someone able to work independently while contributing positively to the wider team. Previous management or supervisory experience is advantageous but not essential.
Experience or interest in practice administration, accounts or broader business operations would also be welcomed.
