Flame Health Audiology has been instructed by our client, a family-run audiology provider, to recruit an Audiologist in Birmingham.
This is a community-based position focused on domiciliary care, offering the opportunity to manage a local territory and deliver hearing services directly to patients in their homes.
The package combines a basic salary with commission and travel support, making the position particularly relevant to an audiologist who values independence and is motivated by performance-related earnings.
Job Overview
An Audiologist is sought for a domiciliary position based in Birmingham, with a basic salary of £30,000, rising to £35,000–£40,000 for candidates with strong experience and qualifications.
The package also includes an approximate £6,000–£7,000 car allowance, paid mileage and commission, with an OTE of £120,000.
About the Job
Around 90% of your work will involve home visits across a local territory, carrying out hearing tests, fittings and associated services.
A diary manager arranges appointments, which typically include a mix of tests and fittings. Visits generally last around an hour and a half, with three to six appointments on a typical day.
You will manage your appointments and travel, recording mileage where required. The necessary equipment and audiometer are provided.
Working days are flexible, and training may include up to six to eight weeks on the road with a qualified audiologist, depending on your experience.
A company car may become available after a probationary period for someone considered to have long‑term potential, with fuel paid.
About the Employer
Our client is a family‑run business with longstanding experience in audiology and plans to expand its operations into new areas. Its service model centres on providing hearing care in patients’ homes, with a local presence supporting its work in the community.
For an audiologist who enjoys working independently and building relationships with patients in their own homes, this position offers the chance to contribute directly to the development of a territory.
The combination of community‑based care and responsibility for local activity may appeal to someone seeking a more autonomous working pattern.
What We Are Looking For
You will be an audiologist comfortable carrying out hearing tests and fittings in a domiciliary setting, travelling across a territory and taking a sales‑focused approach to your work. Strong experience and qualifications are valued, and candidates who can demonstrate these may be considered for a higher basic salary.
The position calls for someone able to manage appointments independently, keep accurate records of work‑related travel and provide a considered service to patients during home visits.
You should be comfortable working flexibly and motivated by commission linked to your performance.
Who This Role Suits
This position could suit an audiologist looking for greater ownership of their working day and the opportunity to develop a territory through community‑based care.
It may particularly appeal to someone who values patient contact in the home and is motivated by the potential to increase their earnings through performance.
