Glossop | Hybrid | Full Time | 37.5 hrs per week | £30,000 – £38,000 (DOE)

Join us as a Trading Merchandiser and play a key role in keeping our product ranges performing at their best by managing availability, planning promotions and supporting day-to-day trading decisions. You’ll work closely with teams across the business to track forecasts, spot opportunities and keep trading running smoothly with a sharp eye for detail and a strong commercial focus.

  • Trading runs smoothly with well-managed availability, effective promotions and timely, data-driven decisions that drive performance.
  • Products are launched effectively, managed through their lifecycle and optimised to perform at their full potential from intake to markdown.
  • Teams and partners stay aligned through clear, timely communication on availability, launches, and promotions, ensuring seamless coordination.
  • Accurate, insightful reporting drives early issue detection, highlights trading opportunities, and supports effective, informed action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support product lifecycle planning: recommend timing for launches, markdowns and discontinuations based on sales and stock data.
  • Plan and monitor discount and promotional activity to optimise sell-through and stock flow.
  • Track forecasts for new lines and monitor in-season availability, escalating risk areas early.
  • Coordinate with imports, Operations, Sales, Finance and Buying to align on commercial and operational plans.
  • Liaise with key retail customers to share updates on range launches, stock levels, and trading activity.
  • Support the Trading Manager with regular and ad hoc analysis, trading summaries and team updates.
  • Help ensure Service Level targets and key launch/promo deadlines are met by coordinating tasks across the imports team.
  • Take a flexible, can-do approach to ad hoc tasks that support wider trading and operational success.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in merchandising, demand planning, trading support, or a similar commercial role within retail, wholesale, or FMCG.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with sales, stock, and forecasting data.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced trading environment, able to manage multiple priorities and stay calm under pressure.
  • Commercially aware with a good understanding of how stock availability, pricing and promotions impact sales performance.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing timelines and maintaining data accuracy.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator, able to work cross-functionally and liaise effectively with suppliers, retail partners and internal teams.
  • Positive, proactive mindset with a willingness to take ownership and contribute to a high-performing trading team.

While you’re finding your feet at Flair, you will spend most of your days in the office where we work the core hours of 09:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday with flexible start/finish times according to your schedule and location needs
